My latest project. One of my hobbies/interests is home theater. The few hours a week I can wrestle the remote away from the kids, I generally like to spend in front of the widescreen viewing the latest DVD release. Now I don't have the most expensive system out there, but I enjoy it all the same. I recently decided to add some more sonic impact to the sound system in the form of WATTS! Several years ago I purchased the PCB and components to assemble an 80 watt/channel pure DC amp. This kit included the PCB along with the components and heatsinks required. It has a built in turn on delay to prevent turn on thumps and constantly monitors the output for any problems such as speaker damaging DC. Rated specs: 80 watts / ch 8 ohms THD less than .05% TID less than .05% at or below rated output Freq. Resp. DC-200Khz +0 DB, -3DB @ 1Watt Input Imp. 100K Load Imp. 4 or 8 ohms I recently got around to completing the kit and building an enclosure in the traditional McIntosh chassis style. The look turned out to be quite classic and the sound is clean, uncolored and punchy.
